Storyline: Having bought a type ship, the Unicorn, for a coop off a market stall Tintin is initially puzzled that the wicked Mr. Sakharine should be so enthusiastic to buy it from him, resorting to assassinate and kidnapping Tintin - accompanied by his surprising dog Snowy - to join him and his clique as they sail to Morocco in successi~ an old cargo ship. Sakharine has bribed the crew to disgust against the ship's master, given to intoxication Captain Haddock, but Tintin, Snowy and Haddock shun, arriving in Morocco at the court of a sheikh, who likewise has a model of the Unicorn. Haddock tells Tintin that outer three hundred years earlier his father Sir Francis Haddock was forced to scuddle the original Unicorn when attacked ~ means of a piratical forebear of Sakharine nevertheless he managed to save his lay by and provide clues to its place in three separate scrolls, all of which were secreted in models of the Unicorn.
